Managing Snapshots and Exporting Data

You can save the view of an identity graph as a snapshot and download the data to a CSV file.

A snapshot is a saved, curated view of an identity graph, allowing you to easily refer back to specific investigations without the need to reconfigure filters, search for objects, or rearrange nodes.

Note

Changes made to access objects can take up to 6 hours to appear in Identity Graph.

Data displayed on the identity graph can be exported and downloaded to a CSV file for further analysis, reporting, and sharing.

Viewing Saved or Shared Snapshots

The Snapshots window displays a list of Identity Graph snapshots that you have saved, shared with others, and shared by other users.

  • Your Private Snapshots - Remain visible only to you.
  • Your Shared Snapshots - List of snapshots you have created and shared with others.
  • All Shared Snapshots - List of snapshots that other users have shared.

To interact with a private or shared snapshot:

  1. Go to Home > Identity Graph.
  2. Select Snapshots.
  3. Select the snapshot you want to interact with from Your Private Snapshots or All Shared Snapshots. Loading a snapshot replaces the current set of filters and access objects listed in the explorer with those saved to the snapshot.

Saving and Sharing Snapshots

To save a snapshot of an dentity graph so that you can view it later or share it:

  1. Go to Home > Identity Graph.
  2. With the identity graph of an identity or access item open in Identity Graph, select Snapshots.
  3. Enter a name for your snapshot, then select Save. Your snapshot is available in Your Private Snapshots list.

    Note

Special characters cannot be used in the snapshot name.

  4. To share your private snapshot with all users:

    • Select Publish a copy to shared snapshots to the right of your private snapshot. The snapshot will now appear in shared snapshots for other users to view.
    • To directly share a snapshot with users, select Copy Link to right of your shared snapshot. The link is copied.

Updating Snapshot

You can interact with the snapshot of an identity graph like any other identity graph. When you interact with a private snapshot and make changes, update the snapshot using the Update button to apply the changes and save to your snapshot.

Update a private snapshot:

  1. Go to Home > Identity Graph.
  2. Select Snapshots.
  3. Select the Update button next to your private snapshot. The snapshot saves your updates.

Note

If you have made updates to a shared snapshot and want to save the changes, create a new snapshot. The snapshot is saved to your private snapshots.

Deleting Snapshots

Deleting a private snapshot permanently deletes the snapshot and removes it from your private snapshots. If you shared the snapshot, deleting a private snapshot also deletes the shared snapshot.

Exporting Identity Graph

Data can be downloaded for the entire graph, including identities, access items, and relationships, or only the access objects.

  1. Go to Home > Identity Graph.
  2. Select the Download icon in the top right. Alternatively, right-click on the graph to select an export option from the menu.
  3. Choose one of the following export options:

    • Export graph as JSON - Exports the complete identity graph data, including all identities, access items, and their relationships.
    • Export objects as JSON - Exports the data only for the access objects visible on the identity graph, such as identities and access items, including each object's unique ID and name.
  4. The JSON file is generated and downloaded to your local computer.

To filter the graph data before downloading, view the identity graph results in a data table, apply the required filters, and then download the data to a CSV file. For more information, refer to Viewing Identity Graph as a Data Table.
