Interactive Process
The Interactive Process is a process within a Delegated Interactive Workflow where information is supplied by an end user via an Interactive Form, and Interactive Messages are displayed to keep an Identity Security Cloud user notified as to the progress of the workflow. A user manually initiates this process using a Launcher from the Launchpad. As the workflow runs, any interactive forms or interactive messages will display to the user and await user input before continuing.
To set up an Interactive Process:
-
Go to Admin > Global > Forms.
-
(Optional) Create new Form(s). This step is not necessary if you are using a privileged interactive workflow template.
-
Go to Admin > Workflows.
-
Create a new workflow or start with a template.
-
Add the Interactive Trigger. This step is not necessary if you are using a privileged interactive workflow template.
-
Configure the Operator and Action steps in the workflow builder.
-
(Optional) Add an Interactive Message action and configure any progress message you want to display to the user during the interactive process.
-
(Optional) Add an Interactive Form action and select a form for the user to fill out during the interactive process.
-
-
Select Test Workflow and then Start Workflow Test.
-
Select View Interactive Process to open the test in a new tab.
-
Follow the progress of the interactive process test and provide input when required.
-
Close the new tab when you have completed the test.
-
Go to the Interactive Trigger step and select Create Launcher. An entitlement is automatically created for this Launcher.
Note
The new entitlement will take a few minutes to display on the Entitlement Management page.
-
Select Save.
-
From the Workflows table, select Enabled on the new workflow.
After the Interactive Process has been set up, the new entitlement must be delegated to a user. Refer to Managing Access for more information about entitlements, access profiles, and roles.
Important
As an admin, you will not automatically have the ability to launch the interactive workflow from the Launchpad. You will need to have been delegated access to the workflow for it to be displayed on your Launchpad page.
After the entitlement has been delegated to the user, the user launches the workflow from the Launchpad, which initiates the Interactive Process.
