Setting up Jira Real-Time Scanning

Overview

Jira Real-Time Scanning uses a tenant-specific webhook to notify SailPoint Entro whenever issues, comments, or attachments are created, changed or deleted. Each event triggers an immediate, read-only scan within your granted scopes and Jira permissions, surfacing exposures in near real time.

Note

Jira administrator is needed to set up the webhook

Enabling Real-Time Scanning

  1. Get SailPoint Entro Webhook

    In SailPoint Entro follow the below navigation path to get the webhook you need to set up in Jira: Management > Accounts & Integrations > Jira Application (⋮ menu) > Real Time Scanning

    Copy the webhook and save for later.

  2. Configure SailPoint Entro Webhook in Jira

    With the Jira administrator do the following:

    1. Sign in to your Jira.

    2. Go to Settings > System > Webhooks > Create a Webhook

    3. Give it a name (for example : Entro Security Real Time Scanning)

    4. In the URL enter the webhook from Step 1.

    5. Under Issue related events you can add JQL to allow SailPoint Entro to scan specific locations (SailPoint Entro recommends leaving it empty for overall scanning)

    6. Check all the checkboxes under: Issue, Comment, Attachment

      1. Issue:created, Issue:updated, Issue:deleted

      2. Comment:created, Comment:updated, Comment:deleted

      3. Attachment:created, Attachment:deleted

    7. Click on Create

Note: Make sure NOT to check the Exclude Body checkbox.
