Getting Started with SailPoint Entro

Overview

SailPoint Entro helps organizations gain complete visibility and control over their secrets across all environments - cloud, code, and SaaS. This guide explains how to onboard your first accounts, connect integrations, and start scanning for exposed or mismanaged secrets.

Prerequisites

Before you begin:

  • Ensure you have an active SailPoint Entro account and dashboard access.

  • Verify your user role includes Integration Management permissions.

  • Confirm outbound HTTPS access to SailPoint Entro's API endpoints (used by connectors).

  • Have credentials or tokens ready for the platforms you plan to integrate (AWS, Azure, GitHub, Atlassian, etc.).

Onboarding Your First Integration

  1. Navigate to Integrations - From the main dashboard: Management → Accounts & Integrations → Add New Account (top right). Choose your desired platform (for example, Atlassian, AWS, Azure, or GitHub).

  2. Select Connection Method - Depending on the platform, SailPoint Entro offers two connection options:

    • Automatic Setup: Uses SailPoint Entro's connector or provided script (e.g., CloudFormation for AWS). Ideal for streamlined onboarding with minimal manual configuration.

    • Manual Setup: Recommended for environments with strict access controls. SailPoint Entro provides clear instructions for IAM roles, API tokens, or app registrations.

  3. Assign a Connector - Select any active SailPoint Entro Connector to manage the integration. Each connector (e.g., Quiet Koala, Shy Tiger) represents a deployed SailPoint Entro worker capable of scanning and monitoring accounts. If a connector displays No Onboarded Accounts, it can still be used - it simply has no linked integrations yet.

  4. Verify and Start Scanning - Once connected:

    • The integration will appear under your Accounts & Integrations list.

    • SailPoint Entro automatically performs an initial discovery scan.

    • You can view scan results, secrets, and findings in the Inventory and Detections sections.

What Happens Next

After onboarding, SailPoint Entro continuously:

  • Monitors connected environments for new or rotated secrets.

  • Detects leaked, overexposed, or stale credentials.

  • Correlates secrets with their owning systems and users.

Support and Troubleshooting

If a connector or integration fails to activate:

  • Check your connector logs under Management → Connectors.

  • Verify network access and API permissions.

  • Contact SailPoint Entro Support for assistance through your workspace portal.
