Adding a NetApp Application
In order to integrate with NetApp, first create an application entry in Data Access Security. This entry includes the identification, connection details, and other parameters necessary to create the link.
To add an application, use the New Application Wizard.
- Navigate to Admin > Applications.
- Click Add New to open the wizard.
General Details

Review and edit the application's general details:
- Application Type - NetApp
- Application Name - Logical name of the application
- Description - Description of the application
- Tags - Select tags for the application from the dropdown list or type a new name. Select Enter to create a tag.
- Identity Collector - Select the appropriate type of Identity Collector.

Select Next to open the Connection Details page.
Connection Details

Complete the connection details:

Filer Name - The CIFS server name to which users connect.

Domain Name, Username, and Password - User defined in the prerequisites.
- When working with NetApp Cluster-Mode (versions 8.3 and up work only in this mode):
- If communicating directly with the Vserver:
- Management IP: The Vserver’s management IP. If it’s the same as the data access IP, leave empty.
- Use Management IP for tunneling: Leave unchecked
- 7Mode Legacy OS: Leave unchecked
- If using Vserver Tunneling:
- Management IP: The cluster management IP.
- Use Management IP for tunneling: Checked
- vFiler / Vserver Name: The target vFiler’s name in NetApp settings.
- 7Mode Legacy OS: Leave unchecked
- If communicating directly with the Vserver:
- When working with NetApp 7-mode:
- If there is only one filer (no vFilers):
- Management IP: Leave empty
- Use Management IP for tunneling: Leave unchecked
- 7Mode Legacy OS: Checked
- If there is more than one filer (working with vFilers):
- Management IP: vFiler0’s (vFiler Zero) IP address
- Use Management IP for tunneling: Checked
- vFiler / Vserver Name: The target vFiler’s name in NetApp settings.
- 7Mode Legacy OS: Checked
- If there is only one filer (no vFilers):
- When working with NetApp Cluster-Mode (versions 8.3 and up work only in this mode):
