Managing your passwords

IdentityNow gives you control over your applications and passwords. You can manage your passwords for multiple apps with no assistance needed.

Updating your account password

Whether your password is about to expire or your account has been compromised, you can secure your IdentityNow account by changing your password.

To update your account password

  1. Select your name in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
  2. From the drop-down menu, select Update Password.

    Note

If you do not see the Update Password option in your main menu, reach out to your administrator for help.

  3. Enter and confirm your new password.

  4. Select Update.

Updating your app passwords

If you’ve recently changed your password for an app, you can update it in IdentityNow to prevent any disruptions in your work. For example, if you update your password for your social media account, you should then update it in IdentityNow, so you can continue accessing it from your Launchpad.

To update your password for an app

  1. From your Launchpad, select the app for which you want to change your password.

  2. Select Update Password.

  3. Enter and confirm your new password.

  4. Select Update.

Note

Depending on your organization’s settings, you may not have the option to change your password for an app. Reach out to your IT department if you have questions.

You can launch the app to verify that you’ve successfully changed your password.

Using the Password Manager

Password Manager allows you to manage and review all your passwords in one place. On this page, you can view your apps and see which share the same password. This way, when you change a password, you can see what other apps it may affect.

Note

If you do not see the Password Manager option in your main menu, your organization may not support this feature.

To update your passwords in the Password Manager

  1. Select your name in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
  2. From the drop-down menu, select Password Manager.
  3. Find the app you want to change passwords for.

Your app will appear in one of the following groups:

    • Shared Password Groups – Apps that share a password. These apps may share a password with a source system such as Active Directory.

      Important

If you change your password for an app in this group, it will change the password for all the apps included in the group.

    • Unshared Password Apps – Apps that are managed by your IT department.

    • Private Apps – Apps linked to personal, nonwork-related accounts. These apps are not managed by your IT department and are provided for your convenience. For example, you may add the apps for your favorite airline, your bank app, or your favorite social media accounts.

      Note

For Private Apps, you'll need to change your password on the app's related website before you can change it in IdentityNow.

  4. Select Update for the app or group of apps.

  5. Enter and confirm your new password.

  6. Select Update.
