Pruning Completed Campaigns

You can prune completed metadata campaigns and their related objects after a specified retention period. Pruning permanently removes older campaign data, helps reduce database usage, keeps the object browser clean, and prevents outdated campaigns from appearing in the interface and reports.

  1. Go to Admin gear icon > Global Settings > IdentityIQ Configuration > Miscellaneous.
  2. Under Other Object Expirations, in the Days before Metadata Campaign deletion box, specify the number of days before a completed campaign is deleted.
  3. Schedule a System Maintenance task or edit an existing task if one is already configured. For more information, refer to System Maintenance.

    Best Practice

SailPoint recommends that you configure a dedicated task to prune completed metadata campaigns.

  4. In the task definition, under System Maintenance Options, select the checkbox for Prune Metadata Campaigns.

After a completed campaign meets the configured age threshold and the prune task runs, the campaign is permanently deleted along with all associated objects, such as metadata reviews, review items, and work items. The task records the counts of what it removed.

Note

Pruning does not remove last-validation records. These records store the most recent review date for each object (role or entitlement) and attribute, independent of the campaign. This allows the Exclude attributes option to exclude recently reviewed objects from future campaigns.
