Prerequisites

  • A source must be setup between ServiceNow and SailPoint to aggregate and correlate ServiceNow users with SailPoint identities.

  • Configure the virtual appliance cluster only when using VA based connection type. For instructions, refer to the Virtual Appliance Reference Guide.

    Note
This is mandatory for VA based connection type and does not apply to SaaS connections.

  • Have at least one ServiceNow instance that is an established part of your IT environment. Refer to Connecting SailPoint and ServiceNow Service Desk for more information.

  • Configure at least one source to generate manual tasks for Provisioning.

  • Be familiar with Apache Velocity scripting.

  • Know the authentication option (Basic Authentication or OAuth2 Authentication) to authenticate into ServiceNow. For token generation and OAuth Client setup on the ServiceNow instance, refer to Create an endpoint for clients to access the instance in the ServiceNow help.

Note
To track RITM status for service requests, it is mandatory to install SailPoint for Service Desk (version 1.0.8 or higher) from ServiceNow store. By default, the existing application supports REQ status only.
