During development, when building a custom connector for the first time, SailPoint recommends that you create a development VA to use for debugging. The logging information that flows to /home/sailpoint/log/ccg.log should be only that of your connector. While debugging, follow the instructions to enable debugging on VAs. SailPoint recommends that you put log.debug(...) statements in your connector so that these are visible whenever debugging is enabled on the VAs.

Post-development, the custom connectors can be deployed as normal using normal VAs for the particular tenants.
