Adding the Source in SailPoint

There are several options for loading accounts, entitlements, and other identity data from a source system into SailPoint. The fastest method is to create a direct connector source to load data directly from your on-premise and cloud directories and management systems. Once the connection is made, you can configure it to meet your company's needs.

Important
By default, the provisioning feature is disabled, and the connector only supports read-only operations. To support provisioning operations, you must manually enable the feature in the source configuration. Once you enable provisioning, it cannot be disabled.

To configure a new source:

1. Sign in to SailPoint.

2. Go to Admin > Connections > Sources.

3. Select Create New.

4. Search for the connector by entering the name in the search box, and then select Configure.

5. In the Actions dropdown, select one of the two options and complete the required fields:

   Express Setup

   Express Setup minimizes the initial configuration process so you can quickly connect the application to Identity Security Cloud and immediately begin aggregating user account and entitlement data.

   Note
   If you want to use Express Setup now and provide additional configurations later, you can edit the source after creation.

   1. Review the directions and select Start Express Setup.

   2. Provide the Source Details. SailPoint pre-populates the fields for your selected source, but you can customize them as required. Select Next when you're finished.

      • Source Name – Enter a name for the new source.

      • Source Owner – Begin typing the name of an owner. Matches appear after you type two or more letters.

      • Description – Enter a description for the new source to help distinguish it from similar sources.

   3. Enter your authentication information as required. The available fields for authentication varies depending on your selected connector.

   4. Select Finish.

      The connector performs a Test Connection in the background. If the Test Connection is successful, you are prompted to either start an aggregation process or exit the setup.

   Standard Setup

   Configure connector for full feature support.

   1. Enter the following information:

      • Source Name – Enter a name for the new source.

      • Description – Enter a description for the new source to help distinguish it from similar sources.

      • Source Owner – Begin typing the name of an owner. Matches appear after you type two or more letters.

      • Governance Group (Optional) – Select an optional governance group from the dropdown list.

      • Select Authoritative Source if the source will be used as the account source for an identity profile. For more information, refer to Creating Identity Profiles.

      • Select Create Manual Work Items to enable the source to support additional source management features such as creating accounts and access profile management.

        Important
        Once you enable this feature, it can't be disabled.

   2. Select Continue to create the new source with your selections.
