Integrating SailPoint with Grist

Revised Date: 29 June 2026

Grist is an open-source, relational spreadsheet-database platform that combines the flexibility and user experience of a spreadsheet with the robust data structure of a relational database. Built on an SQLite foundation with full Python formula support, it allows teams to manage structured, connected data with granular, row-level access permissions. This document provides instructions to configure a new direct connection to Grist source. For a reference to the terminology specific to SailPoint products, refer to Source and Connector Definitions.

Supported Features

The Grist connector supports the following:

Account Management

  • Aggregate org-level users

Important

Quick Compliance connectors have the following manual aggregation limits within a 24-hour period:

  • Organization Admins: Limited to 3 manual account or entitlement aggregations per day per source. This limit is cumulative across all admins in the organization.

  • Regular Users: Limited to 1 manual account or entitlement aggregation per day per source.

These limits ensure that individual compliance statuses are kept up to date while maintaining continuous compliance monitoring. If you need to run additional aggregations beyond these limits, contact SailPoint Support.

Prerequisites

Ensure the following prerequisites are met before proceeding with the configuration:

  1. Ensure you have a Grist team site URL as Base URL, an API Key, and an Organization ID.

  2. Get the API Key. Go to Account settings > Developer, create an API key, and copy the created API key.

  3. Find the Organization ID. From the URL https://{subdomain}.getgrist.com, use {subdomain} as the organization ID. Or use current when the Base URL already points to the team site.

For more information about the Grist API, refer to the REST API Reference- Grist Help Center.

Required Permissions

  • Ensure you have Owner access to manage and list all users.
