Integrating SailPoint with Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations

Dynamics 365 is a cloud service from Microsoft, combining several business needs into a single, scalable, and agile platform. Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations (F and O) is an ERP system which is a part of Dynamics 365 product line. It offers the ability to keep track of finances and inventory of the business.

Connecting SailPoint to your Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations Connector allows you to manage Users and Security Role assignment related to read and provision various Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Native IAM Objects as follows:

  • Users: Users are employees of the organization synced from Azure Active Directory.

  • Security Roles: Security roles provide access for different parts of the system. They play a key role in performing authorization for the Users. Security role is a complex object, it is hierarchical in nature and is constructed composing more granular objects.
