Upgrade Considerations

When upgrading IdentityIQ, perform the following procedures for the respective attributes in the application debug page:

To use the OAuth 2.0 authentication type, add the following entry key in the application debug page:

Workday application has the following phone attributes:

  • PHONE_WORK

  • PHONE_HOME

  • ADDITIONAL_PHONE_HOME

  • ADDITIONAL_PHONE_WORK

The default device type is set as Telephone.

For example, if the user provides phone number +1 123 1234567, then in the Workday managed system, the phone number would be updated to +1 (123) 1234567.

If you want to update other supported phone device types such as Mobile, Fax, or Pager, provide the entry as follows from IdentityIQ:

  • +1 640 8900837 (Mobile)

  • +1 640 8900837 (Fax)

  • +1 640 8900837 (Pager)

Afterwards, the entries will be updated in Workday managed system.

Provide the entry in the following format for defaultPhoneDevice in the application debug page:

This adds Mobile as the default phone device type if any other device type is not provided with a phone number in the Workday managed system.

By default the international code is +1. The code can be changed by providing the entry as follows in the application debug page:

This adds +44 as the country code if any other country code is not provided in Workday managed system.

The following attributes must be added to the application debug page with the default value as telephone:

The Workday Connector supports updating of the following attributes:

  • HOME_FAX

After adding the above attributes to the application Debug page, the respective XPATH must also be added in the application Debug page.

To enable parallel aggregation, add the aggregationThreadSize attribute in the application debug page as mentioned in Additional Configuration Parameters.

A change in XPATH would change the value displayed by the State schema attribute. For example:

Old value: California

New value: USA-CA

  • The Workday connector supports multiple versions as mentioned in the Supported Managed Systems section. To specify the version, the following entry key must be updated in debug page <entry key="version" value="<Version Number"/>

    For example, <entry key="version" value="30.1"/>

  • Depending on the version of XPATH, non out-of-the-box attributes might get changed for applications, and they may need to be updated.

    For example, XPATH for the BIRTHDATE attribute in Workday API versions 24.1, 30.1, 32.1, 35.2, 37.0 is

  • To use the Workday API version 32.1, it is required to perform the following steps manually:

    1. Update the following entry key in the application debug page:

    2. Delete the XPATH entry from XpathAttributesMap for the following attributes:

      • HOME_MOBILE

      • HOME_TELEPHONE

      • WORK_MOBILE

      • WORK_TELEPHONE

    3. Run the aggregation task for the application.
      The aggregation will aggregate the XPATH for the mentioned attributes with respect to Workday API version 32.1.

  • If the existing application wants to use Wokday API version 37.0 or 35.2 instead of 32.1, perform the following:

    1. Update the value of the version attribute in the application debug page. For example, change 32.1 to 37.0 or 35.2.

    2. Update the XPATH for the MANAGER_ID attribute with the following value:

To aggregate data based on the Server Time Zone provide, perform the following:

  1. Delete the entry of the Server Time Zone field from the application debug page.

  2. Configure the Effective Time Zone field on the application UI.

If the application debug page has entries for Server Time Zone and Effective Time Zone, then the value of Server Time Zone will have precedence.

Important
After upgrading IdentityIQ, the Workday Connector does not delete the secondary contacts while provisioning the primary contacts.

  • The following prerequisites are required for existing systems to utilize the Pre-Hire functionality:

    1. Additional Schema Attributes must be added manually.

    2. XPath attributes Map should be updated to add the following attributes:
