Associate a Credential Provider with a Source

To add an additional layer of security on the connection between IdentityNow and your sources, associate your sources with a credential provider. Credential providers regularly rotate authentication credentials where applicable. This provides a more secure authentication method than static values.

When you assign a credential provider to a source in IdentityNow, any authentication fields you need to configure allow you to use the credential provider or use static authentication credentials.

For information on creating a new credential provider, refer to Configure a Credential Provider.

To associate a source with a credential provider:

  1. In IdentityNow, go to Admin > Connections > Sources.

  2. Select the source you would like to associate with a credential provider.

  3. Select Edit Configuration.

The source configuration displays in the Base Configuration tab.

  4. In the Credential Provider downmenu, select a configured credential provider.

  5. Select Save to associate the source with the selected credential provider.
